INDO505: Sumatran Ivory Keris

Wonderful Palembang keris with intricate marine ivory handle from South Sumatra. This Jawa Demam style handle is deeply and intricately carved from the tooth of a large sea mammal. The Mendak looks to be low carrot gold, set with stones or glass and is very old. The blade has a bright and active pamor pattern showing, and the original scabbard is in fine condition. This one comes with a custom metal base.

18" Overall - 13 1/2" Blade. 19th century, Sumatra, Indonesia.    ....$1500.00
