PH735: Northern Philippine Kris Sword

An unusual 19th century Northern Philippine Kris sword. I suspect that this is one of a pair of double swords like you would see from China. The handle is made of horn, and the hand guard is flat on one side like it would be up against another sword in the scabbard. The blade also has an unusual shape with stiff waves reminding me a bit of a Chinese sword as well. The well forged blade shows a slight patten in the steel. The materials and construction is obviously Northern Philippine, but this sword may have Chinese influence. The patina on the horn handle is good from age and use.

27 3/4" overall with a 21 3/4" blade. 19th century Luzon, Northern Philippines.    ....Sold
