AS595: Omani Buckler

19th century buckler shield from Oman. This small but very thick hide shield has a good dark patina from age and use. The hide handle is all original, in fine condition, and there is one metal star intact. These shields are often found in Africa, mostly in Ethiopia and Somalia, but from my reading the origin is Oman.
