PH773: Bicol Dagger |
||
This Northern Philippine dagger I believe to be from the Bicol area of Eastern Luzon. The handle has an abstract bat head similar to the Minasbad swords of this area. The handle is made of horn and has a good patina from age and use. The color is made of brass. The well forged blade shows a slight hardened edge. The original scabbard is wood on one side, and the other side is made of sheet metal with small nails holding to the wood. 18" overall with a 11" blade that is 3/16" thick at the back edge.. Late 19th or early 20th century, Luzon, Northern Philippines. ....$250.00 |
