PH811: Sulu Kris sword

Good Tausug Moro fighting kris sword with a straight blade. The wood handle has small metal inlays, and a natural fiber wrapping that is sealed with tree pitch. There is a small silver collar and the single stirrup is made of brass. The well forged blade looks to be 19th century and possibly older then the rest of the sword. The blade has a good pattern showing with a hardened edge, and the ganja is a separate piece of steel. The scabbard has an intricately carved top that is missing a chunk on one end.
