PH818: Moro Kampilan Sword

A classic 19th century Moro Kampilan sword. The intricately carved wood handle has small aluminum eyes, and old rattan wrapping that goes up over the hand guard to stabilize some old cracks. The cracks are stable and the wrapping was done for continued use of the sword by the Moro. There are nicely forged steel hand guards on both sides of the handle. The well forged blade shows a good linear pattern and a hardened edge.Overall good patina from age and much use.
