AF652: Azande Sickle Sword |
||
A long Azande or Binja sickle sword. The well forged blade is sharp on the concave side, and back edge of the expanded tip. The front side of the blade has three steps forged in, whereas the back side is flat. The original wood handle has a good dark patina from age and use. I believe these swords were used for striking around, and hooking the wicker war shields. 33 inches overall with a 29 inch blade. early 20th century D. R. Congo, Africa. ....$550.00 |
