PH844: Moro Kris Sword

A fine old 9 wave Moro Kris sword. The handle has a small complete burl wood cockatoo pommel, the original well braided twine wrap and a copper band. The single stirrup his made of silver. The well forged blade shows a wrap around hardened edge and a good pattern. There is an unusual rectangle near the base of the blade that shows the tang attachment with pin. This is probably how the blade was made originally with multiple pieces, or possibly a working life restoration. The scabbard is old, and in good condition. The overall piece has a good patina from age and use.
