PH769: Moro Punal Dagger

A fine large and fancy Moro Punal knife. The handle has fine grained burl wood, intricate silver collar and solid silver hand guard that is made out old coins. You can still see the partial date on one side reading "190?" . The well forged double edged blade shows a slight pattern and hardened edge. The original wood scabbard is decorated with one silver sleeve, and the bottom one is missing.     

12 3/4" overall with a 7 3/4" blade. Early 20th Century, Southern Philippines.
