PH770: Moro Punal Dagger

A beautiful and large early 20th century Moro Punal knife. The handle is a finely grained wood with layers of horn, orange bakelite, and white metal. The wide blade has chiseled floral decorations, a slight pattern and a hardened edge. The original scabbard is burl wood with modern replacement rattan bands.     

12 1/2" overall with a 7 5/8" blade that is 3 3/8" wide. Early 20th Century, Southern Philippines.
