INDO789: Aceh Rencong Knife

19th century Rencong / Rentjong knife of the Aceh peoples of Sumatra. A very nice quality example of an unusual weapon. The handle is made of a single piece of bent horn and has texture marks carved into the surface. The blade is very well forged with a hollow ground fuller. The scabbard is a good fit and has fine carved details. Overall good condition with a nice patina from age and use.    

14 1/2" overall with a 8" blade that is 1/4" thick at the back edge. 19th century Sumatra, Indonesia.
