PH782: Kalinga Shield

A large classic 19th century Kalinga war shield. Nice elongated form with good dark patina from age and use. The woven rattan binding are in good condition with one slight loss on the edge of one band. Three original small rattan bands remain on the top and bottom ends.    

49" tall by 12 1/4" wide. 19th century, Luzon Northern Philippines.
