PH813: Moro Kampilan Sword

A classic 19th century Moro Kampilan sword. The well carved wood handle has three woven rattan bands and a beautiful dark patina from age and use. There are holes on the back side that would have had hair sticking out, and one steel hand guard. The blade is well forged with a good pattern and hardened edge visible. The tip is intricately detailed with a spike and multiple holes.    

39.5” overall with a 28 3/4” blade that is 5/16” thick at the back edge. 19th century Southern Philippines.
