PH826: Moro Panabas

A short and very heavy Moro Panaabas. These fighting weapons were derived from farm tools. The blade is heavy and thick, and shows some of the rough forging and hammer marks. The handle is bound with both steel rings and woven rattan bands.     

27 inches overall with a 12 inch blade 3/8 inches back edge. Early 20th century, Southern Philippines.
