PH829: Large Northern Saber

A very large and heavy Northern Philippine saber sword. I believe this sword comes from or near the Bicol area of Luzon as the hand guard and blade shape are reminecent of the Minasbad sword. The handle is horn with a steel knuckle guard and sword catching spike. There are a few small areas of fill where there was bug damage to the horn. The long and heavy blade has a linear pattern.     

29 inches overall with a 24.5 inch blade that is 3/8 inch thick at the back edge. 19th century Luzon, Northern Philippines.
