PH833: Moro Barong Sword

A classic Moro Barong sword. The fine grained wood handle has complete carved details, braided twine bands, and a silver collar. The well forged blade has an active pattern and hardened edge showing. The original scabbard has been re-tied with twine at a later date, and is mostly complete with some small losses and cracks.     

25 inches overall with a 16.5 inch blade that is ¼ inch at the back edge. 19th century Southern Philippines.
