OC421: Dani Knife

New Guinea knife from the Dani peoples of New Guinea. The wood bladed knife fits into a bark scabbard that is covered with woven rattan and decorated with cassowary feathers. The handle of the knife is woven natural fiber, and the patina is good and dark from age and use.     

15” Overall with a 12” Blade. Early 20th century, New Guinea.
